AI Policy

AI is talked about a lot for better and for worse and so I want to be upfront about my thoughts and position on AI.

I am curious by nature and so I have approached AI with both genuine curiosity for how it can help / impact my work, and also with trepidation. Being ever conscious of the impact of AI on society, the environment, and creative landscape including the future work for creatives.

This policy may change but this is where I stand as of July 2026.

I will not intentionally use AI generated photographic images in projects.  When photos are taken and captured it is from the eye of the photographer or stylist at hand, taken at a real time and place - accidental images can sometimes be magical moments and bring something unexpected.  I don’t ever want to lose this unexpected nature of photography and image curation.

If you find yourself stuck sourcing images, please let me know and I can either help source stock images - real photos taken by real people,  or add on a brand photoshoot to your project.

From time to time we may use AI tools to assist with image edits such as removing an unwanted detail, removing a background, or touching up an image. Much of which is already possible in Adobe Photoshop and Canva.

I believe in being upfront about the tools I use to deliver the best results for my clients. To enhance efficiency, and streamline certain aspects of the work, including the day to day running of the Studio,  I may use AI tools as part of a project.

These tools can help us:

  1. Generate placeholder text.

  2. Create initial website copy tailored to your vision particularly if  the lack of copy is causing a roadblock to the progression of the project.  Generated copy will only ever be used as a starting point to spark further human led creativity.

  3. Custom website coding for particular elements and functionality - any generated code used will always be reviewed and rigorously tested.

  4. Assist in the day to day running of the administrative side of the studio.

While AI tools help us work more efficiently, they don’t replace the care and expertise of your designer. Every AI-assisted element is carefully reviewed, refined, and customised to ensure it meets the highest standards and aligns perfectly with your goals.

I’m committed to transparency, so if you have any concerns or would prefer to opt out of having AI tools used for your project, just let me know . I’m happy to adapt my approach to meet your preferences. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

As I said AI is a rapidly evolving technology it may grow and contract as needs and society evolve. This is where I currently stand on it (July ‘26) - it may change in the future!
